Lithuanian State Audit Office Warns Budget Deficit Could Reach 6% of GDP

On 6 November, Lithuania’s State Audit Office warned that the public-sector deficit could rise faster than government forecasts and approach 6% of GDP by 2029. The assessment was issued as part of its review of the next year’s state budget; no additional spending package was announced. The warning creates demand for fiscal analysis, public investment evaluation and policy planning. HPC can support economic research, budget assessments and public-sector advisory.
